Loving 2.9.11

A little smattering of what I am loving right now:

Loving the sun. We have had eight straight days of warm gorgeous unfiltered winter sunshine. Before that we had a whole month of fog. If you have ever lived in the central valley of California during the winter you know what I mean. Limited visibility. Literally speaking and sometimes figuratively as it has a certain effect on the disposition of a person.

Loving books. I just finished Honolulu by Alan Brennert. Right before that I read his book Moloka'i, which is what made me want to read Honolulu. Two totally unrelated stories, both great historical fiction. Moloka’i was my favorite. I am now obsessed with Hawaii and especially the island of Moloka’i. So much that I want to go to the rarely visited island! Someday. Today Emily and I both started reading Twilight. I got my copy from the county library; she got hers from her school library.

Loving the teepee Emily built last month with the discards from Tony’s tree trimming day. I think it'll be a fixture in our backyard for a while.

Loving fresh local oranges. Can’t get enough right now. Me and Eva even eat the pulp from the juicer by the spoonful.

Loving Eva’s kindergarten year, and loving the creative way she puts her flowers in water bowls.

Loving my computer. It's super speedy. It goes almost as fast as I think and I like it! Now I have so much more time to read books!
