October.

I haven't blogged for a while and I'm sort of jumbled up about it so here it is in my own ragged little fashion.

Things I want to remember:

Eva's friend Michael walked into our house this week and looked around for Eva. Not finding her, he walked through each room saying over and over loudly and sweetly in his adorable four year old voice, "Where are you? You silly girl!"

How extra lovable and cuddly my kids [even Emily in her own way] get at bedtime, after the often dreadful tooth brushing. Eva had already been tucked in the other night and she kept getting up and making trips to my bedside for hugs. After I don't know how many trips back and forth to her bed she came in and told me "Momma I wish I could hug you forever." Could anything in the world be more pleasing than that? Not in my eyes.

The last day I swam was October 14 and the water temperature was 78°. Today it was 64°. *Shiver*

Emily and Sarah went up for another year of Girl Scout camping at Camp Sylvester last weekend and I went up to help again too, our 5th year. It's something like 90 girls from many different local troops and 25 adults. It was the first year we had anything more than just cold weather, it rained all three days we were there. It was still a great weekend in the mountains, just a great indoor weekend in the mountains.

Eva is a Daisy Girl Scout now, awwww. Four kids in scouting, wha?

Both my September birthday girls had parties. I told you it was a long time since I blogged! They both had a pool party, don't look so surprised! Eva's 5th birthday was on a Wednesday. We have minimum days every Wednesday and I called up a few of my awesome mom friends to bring their kids over and celebrate with us after school. It was one of the last few days that we had weather in the 90+ degree range so it was still perfect pool weather and all the kids had a bona fide blast.

Volleyball has been over for three weeks but Emily is now playing basketball for her school and she has already played two games. So far one win & one loss. We are still enjoying [no, really] soccer season but now there are only three more games and we may already be finished with weekday practices.

I can't remember and am much too lazy to go and look to see if I told you that Emily is playing piano in the Jazz Band for her school. She is growing in fun new directions with her piano skills. Sarah as well has blossomed into a beautiful piano talent since she started piano lessons with our lovely friend and piano teacher Lisa. I always thought that Emily's skills were augmented by her blessed long fingers, but Sarah's short little sweet fingers are just as fast and dexterous and I am proud mama when they sit down in front of those keys!

The sweetest thing about this month: Sarah became an altar server. The next sweetest: we actually had a photographer take our family photos! First time since the beach trip in 2007. I haven't seen them yet but I'll surely share when I do!

We had an extra hot but not all that unusual beginning of fall, but that's changing up now! Welcome cold and rain!

Happy Fall & Happy Halloween!
