I closed my eyes for just a second and just like that, March is closing up shop. I am really looking forward to this Easter weekend and to the upcoming week of spring break. You know me, I am happiest when my kids don't have to be anywhere and we can just hang around and be together in an unscheduled and unhurried kind of way.
I am now the proud mama of a seven year old boy! Wyatt was so excited about his birthday. Every night when I would tuck him in he would tell me how many days until his birthday and he would raise his shoulders and giggle as he looked up at me. My boy is growing up and it's all happening way too fast. The scads of parents that told me that these years go by very quickly were right after all. When you are a young parent, you look at them and listen to their words with a short nod and a crinkle in your eye as if you understand or believe what they are saying. Then one day it comes true for you and it becomes pure heartbreak.
Sorry to report that there is not much news to report. We are just business as usual at my house. As the end of the school year nears, all things kid related ramp up before they fall off completely and summer break begins [aka the best time of the year!] For tonight, I am just taking dinner out of the oven and heading out to watch my eldest child play a basketball game. Afterward, we will all come home and eat that dinner then call it a day and do it all over again tomorrow. The day after that, let's call it April.
Peace and love be with you in this wonderful holy week.
